Frequently asked questions
Questions we get most often, grouped by topic. If yours isn't here, email support@esimahora.com — we reply within hours.
Before buying
How do I know my phone supports eSIM? iPhone XS and later (2018+). Samsung Galaxy S20+ and newer. Google Pixel 3+ (not Verizon CDMA). Xiaomi 13+, OnePlus 11+. Check: Settings → About phone → look for "EID".
How much GB do I need? Light use (maps + WhatsApp + a few photos): 1 GB for a week. Medium (Instagram + some calls): 3-5 GB for a week. Heavy (streaming + video calls): 10+ GB. For a 2-week trip multiply by 2. Better to start with less and buy a top-up if needed.
Does it work in country X? Yes if your plan covers it. We have eSIMs for 150+ countries and regional bundles (Europe 30+, Asia, North America, Global 120+). Check the country page at /buy/{code} for available plans.
Are calls/SMS included? No. All our plans are data-only. For calls use WhatsApp, Telegram, FaceTime, or similar (which work over data). Your home SIM can stay active for bank SMS.
Payment and refunds
What payment methods? Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Bizum (via Stripe). Card minimum: €5. For cheaper plans, top up balance in our Telegram bot (€5 min, no minimum on plans once topped up).
Is payment secure? Yes. We don't store card data — Stripe processes it directly under PCI DSS Level 1. TLS 1.3 + 3D Secure.
Can I get a refund? Yes, if the eSIM hasn't been activated. We refund to the original payment method (card) within 5-10 business days. If the eSIM is already activated (data used), no refund because the service was delivered. Exception: technical errors on our side, handled case by case.
What if I paid via bot balance? Same — refund to internal balance if the eSIM wasn't activated. You can use that balance for another eSIM or request a USDT withdrawal (takes <10 min).
After buying
How do I receive the eSIM? Automatic email (to the address you provided at checkout) and/or in Telegram if you bought via the bot. Contains: direct install button, QR for scanning, SM-DP+ address for manual entry.
Email didn't arrive — Check spam folder (Gmail sometimes routes it there). If nothing, go to esimahora.com/buy/orders from the browser where you bought — your order is saved in localStorage. There's a "Resend QR by email" button on each order. If that doesn't work, email support@esimahora.com with purchase date and amount.
When do days start counting? From the FIRST connection to the local network in the destination country. You can install the eSIM today and travel a month later — the clock starts on landing and connection.
Can I use the eSIM in another country? Only if you bought a regional or global plan. Single-country plans work exclusively in that country. For multi-country: "EU-30+" (30 European countries), "AS-7" (7 Asian countries), "Global 120+" (120 countries).
Common problems
Installed but no data — 99% of the time it's roaming. Turn on "Data Roaming" for the eSIM (not for your home SIM). Detailed guide: /help/install-iphone or /help/install-android.
Bought Turkey/Uzbekistan/Georgia eSIM, doesn't work on Android — These countries need manual APN "isp" on Android. iPhone works automatically. See dedicated section at /help/install-android.
eSIM appears but is grayed out — You have to enable it. After adding the profile, Android/iPhone shows two lines at Settings → Cellular. Tap the new eSIM → enable "This line is on" toggle.
Slow data at stadium/festival — Local network saturation with many people. Premium Canada eSIMs (World Cup 2026) are multi-network (Rogers + Bell + Telus) — phone hops to the least-congested automatically.
Top-ups and plans
My data is running low — You'll get an email/TG notification at 500 MB left. You can top up the same plan with one click (on "reloadable" plans), or buy a new one. Most of our plans ($10+) automatically gift 500 MB extra when data runs out — free, once per eSIM.
How do I top up? Low-balance email → "Top up €X" button (charges saved card). Or in the Telegram bot → /eSIMs → your eSIM → "Top up". Without a saved card, you need to buy a new plan.
How long does a plan last? Depends on the plan. 7 days, 15, 30 are common. Some countries have 60 or 180 days. Check before buying, shown at /buy/{country}.
