Travel context
Sudan primarily receives journalists, humanitarian workers, engineers, and a handful of adventurers crossing the Blue Nile. The conflict since 2023 has reduced tourist travel to near zero, but connectivity demand for correspondents and NGO staff remains high. Zain Sudan has the best coverage in Khartoum and the Nile corridor. MTN covers eastern cities well (Port Sudan). Sudani is the state operator with better rural presence but slower speeds.
Entry requirements
Visa required for almost all nationalities. Letter of invitation and travel registry recommended. Check security situation before traveling — diplomatic advisories often counsel against travel.
How to activate on landing
