Bahamas has two main carriers: BTC (Bahamas Telecommunications Company, historic state operator with largest nationwide coverage) and Aliv (recent market entry, strong in Nassau and Grand Bahama). The eSIM Ahora connects to the strongest network. Plugs are Type A and B (American format, 120V — same as the US, no adapter needed). 4G coverage reaches Nassau, Paradise Island, Grand Bahama (Freeport), Bimini, and Eleuthera. On less-populated islands (Exuma, Andros, Inagua) coverage follows inhabited areas.
Nassau's Lynden Pindling Airport (NAS) offers free WiFi limited to 30 min. The currency is the Bahamian dollar (BSD, pegged 1:1 to USD); USD is accepted everywhere with no penalty. Use Royal Bank of Canada Bahamas, Scotiabank, or Commonwealth Bank ATMs. Tips are 15-18% (sometimes already included as "gratuity"). Driving on the left — British legacy. Beware cruise ports in Nassau: dock taxis have fixed fares (verify first). Paradise Island beaches are Atlantis private but neighboring resorts have public access.
