Mobile networks in Singapore

Singapore has three carriers: Singtel (Singapore Telecommunications, market leader with broadest 5G), StarHub (nationwide 5G), and M1 (Keppel subsidiary, best value). The eSIM Ahora connects to the strongest network. Plugs are Type G (British three-pin, colonial legacy), 230V — you need an adapter from continental Europe or the Americas. 5G coverage is virtually total — the entire island (728 km²) including Sentosa, Jurong, Tuas, all MRT stations (underground included), and Changi airport.

Travel tips for Singapore

Changi Airport (SIN) is considered the world's best — unlimited free WiFi, gardens, pool, cinema, transit hotel. The currency is the Singapore dollar (SGD, ~1.35 SGD/USD); DBS, OCBC, and UOB ATMs accept foreign cards with no commission up to 1000 SGD. Tipping is NOT tradition — service charge (10%) is already included. Singapore is strict on laws: gum prohibited (except medical), littering brings heavy fines, smoking restricted. EZ-Link card is essential for MRT, buses (rechargeable at any 7-Eleven or station). Grab (Asian Uber) dominates; taxis also available with mandatory meter.

Frequently asked questions about Singapore eSIM

Does the Singapore eSIM work at all MRT stations and underground?
Yes. The entire MRT network (8 lines, 138+ stations) has full 5G coverage from Singtel, StarHub, and M1 — at stations, tunnels, even under the harbour. Coverage doesn't break between stations — world-pioneer underground coverage since 2014. SBS Transit and SMRT buses also maintain signal. Excellent for live Google Maps navigating ChangiExpress, Downtown Line, or Thomson-East Coast Line.
Does the eSIM cover Sentosa, Marina Bay Sands, and all tourist attractions?
Yes. Singtel and StarHub have 5G at Marina Bay Sands (rooftop infinity pool, observation deck, casino), Gardens by the Bay (Supertree Grove, Cloud Forest, Flower Dome), Sentosa Island (Universal Studios, S.E.A. Aquarium, Adventure Cove), Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, Jurong Bird Park, and ArtScience Museum. Coverage is uniform — no no-signal zones on the main island.
Does the Singapore eSIM work crossing to Malaysia (Johor) or ferries to Indonesia?
No. Our Singapore eSIM only works in Singaporean territory. Crossing the Causeway or Tuas Second Link to Johor Bahru (Malaysia), the SG eSIM stops working — you need a Malaysia eSIM. Ferries to Batam, Bintan (Indonesia) cross the Singapore Strait, SG coverage drops midway. For Singapore-Malaysia-Indonesia loops consider a regional Asia eSIM or per-country.
