Tigo (majority share) and Claro dominate the Nicaraguan market. 4G coverage across Managua, Granada, León, Masaya and San Juan del Sur. Ometepe Island (Concepción and Maderas volcanoes) has 4G in Moyogalpa and Altagracia, weaker signal in remote zones and at the summits. Caribbean coast (Bluefields, Corn Islands) has limited coverage — Big Corn has 4G in town, Little Corn is mostly offline. Río San Juan and the Indio Maíz reserve are without coverage in deep zones. 5G not commercially available yet. Type A/B US plugs, 120V/60Hz.
Fly into Managua-Augusto Sandino (MGA); shuttle to Granada ~25 USD (45 min). Currency córdoba (NIO), ~36 NIO per USD; dollar widely accepted in tourist zones. Nicaragua is cheap: dinner 5-10 USD, hostel 10-20 USD. Granada (colonial) is the ideal 3-4 day base. León (colonial + Sandinista history) is an alternative. Surfing at San Juan del Sur and Playa Maderas. Ometepe requires ferry from San Jorge (1h, ~5 USD). Corn Islands: 1h flight Managua-Big Corn or long ferry from Bluefields.
